Many college students’ diets are poor. They consist of ramen noodle soups, hot pockets, peanut butter sandwiches, and many more unhealthy foods. How can students change this to improve their eating habits? College brings laziness, and most students don't fight it. We all think a quick lunch is good enough, but its not. There are plenty of resources out there that tell you what is healthy for you, and even tell you how to make it. Guys in college want to impress girls when they go out on college night, but don’t eat the way they are supposed to. How can you be working out and be eating a ramen soup or two a day. In life we need to have both health and fitness. We offer a lot of activities so all the students can be part of, because being part of something gives you motivation and when motivation comes into the picture that’s when you start working hard and being active. Being active comes with being healthy and you can’t just have one. Many students live on campus and love eating out. They love going to get those “late night” Whataburger’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, and how can we forget the most known around campus, Wing Stop. Those restaurants are what are holding a lot of people out there from doing many things and being active.

The magazine health and fitness (www.healthandfitnessmag.com) has a lot to offer for us college students. For all the freshman girls that are scared of the “freshman fifteen”, I will be honest with you, if you girls keep eating all that fast food it will end up being more than just fifteen. I can tell you that from experience because it happened to me, I doubled it. This magazine not only has tips of how to not gain weight, but how to get toned. For the guys, it has what proteins are good for you when working out. The activities we are going to be posting are for you to join and be more involved with campus. Guys, we are paying for all these fees in our tuition and we have to make them worth it, otherwise we’d be paying for something for nothing. “The Rec.” is there on campus. They have many activities from aerobics, zumba, and even basketball courts. They have many machines there for everyone to use. The recreational center is a good place to be active at all times. Aside from just the recreation center they are also in charge of the intramural teams and that’s where many football and volleyball players enjoy their spare time. The intramural teams consist of many sports throughout the fall and spring semesters.

At www.healthyliving.msn.com you can find many things that are involved with being healthy and your wellness, they even have a whole portion of diseases that can be caused by not eating healthy or active. It has both men and women’s health and how to control it and what we are doing right and what we aren’t. With all that unhealthy eating, also comes all the acne that college students get. Being healthy is not just whatever, it’s something that needs to be done for the well being of yourself. College students like us have a lot of stress with all the testing we have to go through and everything we have to study. Going out to run is a good way to just let go of all that mess while releasing everything you are getting fit. As college students we need to make something different of our life and make everyday a productive day with everything and anything we do. “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” -Jim Ryan

I am in the 9:00 am Technical Writing class, I was drawn to your blog because I am a part of the Sports and Recreational Activities group in the 9:00 am class. I do not agree with the many sweeping generalizations in your blog. I don't believe that every guy that goes out, go out to impress girls and eats ramen noodles after they work out twice a day. Yes the "freshman fifteen" is out there, but it is not a guarantee that people will gain weight when they come to college. In your "freshman fifteen" statement, you only included women in that statement. Is this a fact that men don't worry about gaining weight? or is it just every girl that goes to school worries about this. The statement that rubbed me the wrong way, was in your first paragraph when you said that College brings on laziness. I don't agree that college brings on laziness, in my opinion that is a lifestyle choice. McDonald's and the other fast food chains do not keep people from going out and being active. The fast food chains do not force people to eat their food and not to do any physical activities. Your blog could be much better if you took out all of your generalizations, or listed them as your many opinions instead of writing them as facts. If you talked more about the things that are out there for people to change their non-active lifestyles, or activities that are available for people to participate in instead of what you "know" the blog would be interesting and possibly enjoyable.

Hi Brianda, I'm Deidra Jaramillo and I am a part of Travel4U group. I enjoyed reading your blog. I understand being too busy studying for classes to worry about what you are eating. Instead of thinking of something healthy to snack on or eat, some tend to grab a quick fast food meal or put something in the microwave. I have done it on several occasions. I will definitely be looking at the two websites you wrote about.

Hi there, I am from the Camo and Casting Outdoor Update organization. Eating right and staying healthy is what interested me to your blog. I am all for the extracurricular activities and eating right. You were right that college makes you lazy and all you want to eat is the fast meals. Once you start this it is hard to stop this bad habit. However, like you said, being apart of something will ultimately help you achieve getting over those habits. That was a great article and thanks for sharing it with us.
